Dear Sybil Team,

I see Sybil as a dynamic space where art, gaming, and experimental technology can intersect, so I’m excited to apply for the Curator role.

My goal is to contribute to an inclusive environment where creatives, artists, and developers can collaborate, share ideas, and inspire each other; where diverse voices can connect at their own pace in meaningful ways.

A bit about my background: over the last six years I’ve worked as a cultural strategist, curator, and project manager, organizing creative initiatives across Europe, with a particular focus in Berlin.

I’ve been part of and involved with collectives like NoShade, DigiGxl, and HeartQore, where I’ve curated and led projects that blend creativity, technology, and community. These experiences have deepened my belief in the importance of creating spaces where people can come together to engage, be creative and feel inspired to do their own thing and push boundaries.

One of my most recent projects with HeartQore was the GooGooGlide Slime Wrestling Competition in Berlin. We transformed the old Kardstadt Sportsmall into an interactive slimy arena where contestants competed in video game inspired wrestling for a chance to win a 3D-printed silicone trophy and a monetary prize. The event attracted a wide range of creative communities, who all received it enthusiastically. I’ve also co-curated and co-organized a two day LARP experience in collaboration with Hackers & Designers in the Netherlands, which centered on collaborative storytelling and immersive interaction around the topics of hacking.

As a multidisciplinary artist, my work revolves around world-building, speculative futures, and queer theory, with an emphasis in intimacy, interdependency, and collaboration. Through LARPs and immersive projects, I’ve learned how to design environments where people can engage with each other in both physical and digital spaces.

I see the role at Sybil as an opportunity to cultivate a space where both large-scale and intimate events can thrive. I would love to host monthly book readings, starting for example with The Two Revolutions: A History of the Transgender Internet by Avery Dame-Griff, which explores the intersection of queer theory and digital culture. Additionally, I would to organize collective VR game props sculpting sessions, which I currently run informally, and create a space for discussing a broad range of topics such as internet folklore, decentralised platforms, AI, game assets, and whatever else feels appropriate to the collective. I would also host intimate sessions for game developers to share their WIP with the community for feedback and troubleshooting.

I believe in the value of initiatives that focus on softer skills, and activities that encourage participants to connect regardless of their technical background. I would create spaces that foster these connections, helping participants build relationships and collaborate on creative projects.

I also see an opportunity to bridge the physical and digital worlds by hosting events that take place both IRL and URL. Using platforms like Discord, and running initiatives in Roblox and Second Life, we could expand Sybil’s community and make it easier for people to engage regardless of their location.

Sybil’s being barrier free is something that higly motivated me to apply. I would ensure that all initiatives are inclusive and welcoming to people with diverse body abilities. I would work to establish connections with like-minded projects, with niche sub-cultures, other collectives and institutions, which could open up exciting new avenues for programming and engagement, helping Sybil grow as a platform for diverse voices and innovative ideas.

What excites me most about Sybil is its potential to be more than just a physical space. It can become a vibrant creative ecosystem that fosters collaboration, learning, and experimentation.

Thank you for considering my application. I would be thrilled to discuss how I can contribute to Sybil’s mission and help shape its future programming.

Warm regards,
