Maxim shows the Axiom camera, one of 15 Beta models, this one is known as "the Belgian Beta"

it produces 4K video in rawsends out per ethernet connection to an external recorder that is not free, not part of the development.
The camera consists of different carts plugged together
* 1 cart fpga by micro.zed
http://microzed.org/product/picozed-sdr-1x1-som
* one demi carte is empty and will be dedicated to sensors, wifi, bluetooth, to facilitate controle
* one demi is for the capteur

The Axiom is based on the Elphel, they are disconnected from Apertus
And they are totally absorbed in Google streetmap.

it is powered 12 v, it can be plugged to 2 usb 3 ports

The discussion is about what form a workshop should / could take.
Sure is that it should produce image, using open source camera.
But If only one Axiom camera is available, it is better to choose some other format then 'kino'. Many people understand what Kino as a method is and thay might expect the same way of working.
Maybe is is better to make it into a workshop, you come to learn from each other and to get to know ope source montage, camera etc.

One (interesting) Idea is to also have Pi cams available. They are small and are not having the same impact and intent as the Axiom, but they allow for experiment. Still Full HD, and the converted 8mm seems fun

It looks wise to format the workshop.
* not too many people, 20/30 is already great
* mix between resource persons and open call
* mix between expertises (engineer, filmer, actor, monteur, sound, bricoleur, people connected to Libre Cinema, ...)

to be continued !
