Michael's post-meeting summary:
In the end the discussion of making their own networks, using an "etherbox" or other offline network was eye-opening and triggered a lot of discussion as the idea to start with one's own network resonated with their own starting point of "decolonizing the Internet". We looked at Toneelstofand spent some time talking about the usefulness of separating the collection that they are making from then (multiple / possible) interfaces (so like wiki + different "front ends"). We also looked at Schaarbeeksetaal + Parlez Vous related to a discussion of how voice could play a significant part and how "tagging" might be done differently. (And I was reminded of a need for a better demo of searching through images based on image properties -- but only showed the printed "orderings" comic book from the GG report). Also: reminder to future self: Having a working etherbox setup would be a strong way to demonstrate the idea of a local server, which was quite a novel one for the participants (with questions like what *is* a server and how would that work with a phone ... ie uploading an image).
