concepts
- Virtually experience previous versions of the festival in the HKW
- Structure: naming, change order of menu's + submenu's
- 3d data universe with data planets and light beams of connected files:
- simplifying access to the webpage (no buttons ? )
- Rhizomatic connections, suggestions,
- does it have to be a website? what about: a room, ... in addition / next to the website
- navigation/exploration: access versus immersion
- relationship content and structure, how to be affected by the content?
consider:
the role of the archivist, documentalist
who is the website for ? (public, user, artist, researcher, ... )

YOUR SHORT PROJECT DESCRIPTION BELOW:
larissa:
My idea for the archive is to create a fluid navigation based on tags. When you enter the website, everything lies infront of you (01). All the files are inside a cluster made of shapes. Every shape is generated through its tagging and represents a specific file/text/video (07). Every file/shape that corresponds to your specific tag search (or a random search) docks onto another and creates with that a new filecluster (03,04,05,06). You can now explore new, related topics/files or reorder everything and start from the beginning by searching for new tag combinations.

The concept on my archive is based on the idea of rhizomatic structures. My emphasis is to make the archive interactive and link the given content (possibly also content from other websites) in a useful way. This linking-process should be furthered by the user, who can actively tag articles, but also place comments and other articles. It is also possible to specify your personal interests (for instance by dragging tags into proximity of an article). The interface will change immediately. The standard interface is an average of the interests of the users.
By this the Transmediale archive should be easier to explore and access.

My idea is to create a more unconventional archive/web page by simplifying the structure to a minimum. The archive is now a 3D space in which we find the information on “projection screens” that are aligned in two rowes. So the user will have to navigate through. There are two major functions on the main page <Search> and <Archive>. Search leads also to the archive but it displays the results that match the search entry. Archive leads to the entire workspace. The information can be narrowed by using filters or functions like <search by year> or <search by topic>.

3D Space ( Time Travel to projects with Virtual Reality Glasses using your phone ) 1.You access the space by entering the virutal reality. 2. You choose either the year, the artist, or the project you want to review. For example if you choose the year: You travel back in time, an have a chaotic overview of transmediale 2004. If you search by an aritst you simply seach it by asking the operating system to find it. How the Operating System works, stores, lists: I don't know yet. The archive can be curated and edited, by an archivist who chooses what to display. But everyyear, everything will be recorded. Which is controversial and becomes ethnical if art ist ephemer ( performance ).
