QUESTIONS:
— Why don't we use in urgent matters more often the intelligence that we possess? (Anka)
— How can we put 'printmaking' into participating effect for feministic awareness? cfr. Dear Sister, Futuress https://futuress.org/learning/dear-sister/ (Shirley)
MODES OF HARVESTING & SHARING, session 1:
— INSTRAGRAM ACCOUNT, started by Anka (name: Mushrooms Master 2023, password: Mushrooms2023) Omar makes it private, so we can be more free with uploading and sharing. Each of us uploads a post today.
— Zines (each session one), Issue #1 is set up by Annelys, Miguel and Omar. Issue #2 is edited & designed by Shirley & Miquel, Zine#3 is edited and designed by Miguel & Mahmoud
— Playlist on spotify; with songs we listen when we drink coffee and it's raining outside, started by Mahmoud
— One playlist with dance songs, started by Inge, set up by Omar, shared via whatsapp
— Portrait photo's by Omar, made 29 November
— One cooking sessions hosted by Anka & Inge in their kitchen, date to be confirmed (if possible with recipies from our mothers, sharing food that connects to emotions) — as a prelude to cooking sessions in PAF
— Designing a flag for each session, made by Anka
— Watching/listening list (links to films, lectures, documentaries, etc.), which platform? Google-drive? Other?
- Share all our artistic progress together in one place? -> we could use our SOPOMA-pad for collecting links. Maybe it's very handy to help each other and get inspiration for your own practice in addition to our meetings. (Shirley)

LISTENING AND/OR WATCHING LIST FOR CHRISTMAS PERIOD
(Each of us adds one link and a short sentence why)
– Miguel: this album helps me go to through the dark times of winter. Year after year it gives me solace and motivates me to do the things I wish to do https://youtube.com/watch?v=Ipohbylz7Z4&feature=share
Enjoy :)
– Mahmoud:
– Shirley: Now, I just would like adding a book to our reading list, but I guess that the server of our pad is also enjoying the holidays (it isn’t working for me)… and just in case I forgot: ‘Think Like an Artist’ by Will Gompertz.
– Inge: Dr. Gabor Maté on Trauma, Addiction, Ayahuasca, and More ...YouTube · Tim Ferriss 2 uur, 23 minuten en 45 seconden 7 mrt. 2018. I listened to it during the first lockdown spring 2020, it is a long one, but during sewing or painting or drawing or ironing, ;-), perfect match...
https://youtu.be/H9B5mYfBPlY
And a Dutch Podcast series 'Zwijgen is geen optie' (DeepL: 'Keeping silent is not an option')Olivia Rutazibwa: Racisme dient een doel (DeepL: Racism serves a purpose), but I believe english subtitles ar a possibility...
https://youtu.be/sJf0tb4QeLQ
– Anka: Alec Soth - Somewhere To Disappear -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2T6ANvKpoo - Film made by my stepson Arnaud Uyttenhove - about people who decided to live outside the society and a photographer Alec Soth.
- Omar: Human the movie - one of my favourite documentaries. It's 3 Vols, each exploring different human concepts like love, sadness, happiness, etc in an interview setting with people from different parts and cultures of the world. Very heart-felt with beautiful imagery and cinematography as well.
Vol 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdb4XGVTHkE&t=1661sm
— Annelys: https://youtu.be/uPlZK-Ymn3A This is a key-note presentation by an afro-american-architect working for social justice through design and architecture. I found her presentation so inspiring in how she appraoches community-work, how design can be a tool for restoritive justice. It's a great presentation that I hope sparkles inspiration for shaping artistic practices otherwise.
- Robin: https://www.arte.tv/en/videos/107176-000-A/crossing-voices/ "Malian filmmaker Bouba Touré tells the story of an agricultural cooperative with archive footage. It was founded in 1977 by West African migrants who had returned from France. Touré examines the working and living conditions of African migrants as well as the ecological and social challenges of such an endeavour."

Session 13 December
– Everybody upload their artistic process on notion, and we will look at it. Questions for notion: ask Shirley!
This session I’d like to focus more on making, sketching, visualising and working — building upon the input of the first two sessions, and less on talking. In order to build a richer atmosphere of spontaneous making and building dialogues through and with design (in its widest sense). I’d like to practice giving small workshops, hosting activities, as a warm-up for our week in PAF in February. I suggest small exercises by each of you, which output will be the input for the next zine. But feel free to adjust the suggested approach, see below.
Anka has been so kind to open her magnificent house once more, so we will meet there at 10am (do arrive on time!). If I am right Inge and Mahmoud aren’t in Belgium, but if there is a chance you can join 1 or 2 hours on-line (in the morning?) it would be amazing.
This is the proposal for the programme Tuesday:
10.00 hrs. @ Depot des Arts, aka Anka’s place
— Welcome & check-in
— Launch Zine#2
— Reflection and input for zine #3 —> by Omar & Anka

– Announcement of Uncommonsessions-series
— Short calligraphy/typography exercise by Omar (based upon words of zine#1&2; would that be ok?)
— Short drawing exercise by Miguel (based upon the chosen words; would that be ok?)
LUNCH-TIME —> Potluck
— Short exercise on photography by Shirley (would that be ok?)
— Short exercise on mapping (or collage?) by Anka (would that be ok?)
— Text on, and discussion of workshops, what is a workshop?
— Brainstorm for programme PAF
— Collecting material for Zine#3
Bring with you the following:
