Proposed title:
FUCK OPEN SOURCE DESIGN
Is your design really open source?
something in between...
Maybe then: "NOT OPEN SOURCE DESIGN". But when I think of "FUCK"... I prefer it because it also means that these people are fucking up the terms. We are fucking mad at them and they are fucking up what we are trying to achieve. :)
It's also a joke. Something like the series of talks called "LINUX SUCKS" if you know it. It talks about the bad things about Linux and how we can emprove it in a really positive way :)
Description (max 300 words):
A short study on the wrong usage of the terms "open source design", the publicity it creates, the ignorance or lazyness from journalists and how design tenors are spreading the lie.
We'll talk about startegies to change this. Questioning designers with poor licence tastes, keeping journalists on the grill and working at making the licensing discussion the center of the stage.
As Aymeric Mansoux puts it in "My lawyer is an artist". http://www.hz-journal.org/n19/mansoux.html, choosing a license is the initial step [any designer should make].
Example of raising awareness and having licences changed:

TOG by Philippe Starck.
Many articles mention "open source" http://www.togallcreatorstogether.com/press/
Philippe Starck: "L'année porchaine nous lancerons la première mise en ligne open source avec des modèles qui pourront etre créé à domicile avec des imprimantes 3D. […] C'est une idée philosophique, politique, plutot bien ficelée."
"In the very near future the customers will be able to download an open source design as TOG is closely following the very latest developments in technologies such as 3D printing, with the goal to engage with the possibilities they offer."
