Biographies
I imagine that it is not important for Constant to publish detailed bios / cvs by the members, but as the rest of the interviewed artist will be featured this way, I wanted to ask if you could send me this type of information. Perhaps of you two, An and Femke, including a list of activities over the past years from Constant. At the end of the interviews there will be a box with "biographical data".

An Mertens experiments with writing and storytelling on the web, on paper, or in a performative context. She explores the materialities of creating stories in a digital context, with a focus on collaborative practises and Free Software tools. She co-initiated Algolit, a workgroup around i-literature, code and texts.
This group inspired Algorithmic Storytellers,
her current
research on the narrative perspective of algorithms, and specifically self-learning algorithms for text analysis.
In 2013 her experimental novel 'Tot Later' was published by De Bezige Bij, Antwerpen. She developed projects in collaboration with FoAM, Shift Space, Mangrove-Tentactile, Bolwerk, Bronks Jeugdtheater,
BNA-BBOT, Library Sans-Souci Elsene/Ixelles and KWP De Pianofabriek.

Femke Snelting is an artist/designer developing projects between design, feminism and Free Software. With Renée Turner and Riek Sijbring she formed De Geuzen (a foundation for multi-visual research), co-initiated the design/research team Open Source Publishing (OSP) and the Libre Graphics Research Unit. With delegates Jara Rocha, Seda Guerses and Miriyam Aouragh she takes part in the Darmstadt Delegation, exploring techno-political and socio-emotional relationships between activist practice and tools. Since 2013 she is involved in Mondotheque, a collaborative project that grew out of a concern with the mesh of institutional histories, local politics and corporate interests coagulating around the heritage of Paul Otlet. She was a fellow at Akademie Schloss Solitude in 2015 and teaches at The Piet Zwart Institute (experimental publishing, Rotterdam), a.pass (Brussels) and erg (Brussels).

Constant is a non-profit, artist-run organisation based in Brussels since 1997 and active in the fields of art, media and technology. The artistic practice of Constant is inspired by the intersecting themes of collaborative work, promiscuous networks, free software, technological infrastructures, data-exchange, algorithmic culture, experimental archives, forms of (re)presentation, copyright alternatives and (cyber)feminism. Constant generates performative publishing, curatorial processes, poetic software, experimental research and educational experiments that is inspired by the way that technological infrastructures, data-exchange and software determine daily life.
