wimOur residencies of four to ten weeks include:
• dedicated individual studio space
• a private bedroom in shared housing
• communal chef-prepared dinners five nights a week
• paid roundtrip air travel and monthly financial stipends
• peer-to-peer exchange in the dynamic community of artists and visitors who participate in the various programs throughout Headlands’ campus

11.
In  a statement of interest, please address the following questions:  Why  are you specifically interested in a residency at Headlands?

I visited hedlands 8 years ago,  togetheter with amy and stijn, of futurefarmers. They were building a wooden boat which contained flowers.
It was after San José, FreeSoilBus tour. The indepth explrarion the islands and i was introduced in San Francisco ot is wider

Mist and fog are caused by water droplets in the air, and the only  difference is how far you can see. Haze is the reflection of sunlight  off air pollution, while smog is what happens when pollution causes  low-lying ozone. And vog only happens when a nearby volcano is releasing  sulfur dioxide into the air to react with what’s already there.

Fogging is a type of visual censorship. An area for a picture or movie is blurred to obscure it from sight. This form of censorship is used for sexually related images/scenes, hiding genitals, pubic hair, or sexual penetration of any sort. Pixelization is a form of fogging. In Japan, where it is called bokashi, fogging is employed on most films that show pubic hair or genitals, including hardcore pornography.

tech / To a first approximation, defocus blur is convolution by a uniform disk, a more computationally intensive operation than the "standard" Gaussian blur; the former produces sharp circles around highlights whereas the latter is a much softer effect. Diffraction may alter the effective shape of the blur. Some graphics editors have a filter to do this, usually called "Lens Blur.

 RE-EMISSIONS
"Mercury is a very unusual element," Weiss-Penzias said. "Most  metals, if they do get in the air, are associated with particles that  quickly settle out. But mercury is an inert gas in its elemental form,  so it can travel great distances. It is really a global atmospheric  pollutant." The element can undergo a  process called "re-emission," he said. It can enter the atmosphere,  settle on the ground or in water, and then be released again into the  atmosphere.

Owing to its acoustic properties, mercury was used as the propagation medium in delay line memory devices used in early digital computers of the mid-20th century.

As the most common source of mercury in nature,[14] cinnabar has been mined for thousands of years, even as far back as the Neolithic Age.[15] During the Roman Empire it was mined both as a pigment,[16][17] and for its mercury content.[17]:XLI[non-primary source needed]
To produce liquid mercury (quicksilver), crushed cinnabar ore is roasted in rotary furnaces. Pure mercury separates from sulfur in this process and easily evaporates.

At the focal plane, the eye end of the telescope had a number of vertical and one or two horizontal wires (crosshairs). In observing stars, the telescope was first directed downward at a basin of mercury  forming a perfectly horizontal mirror and reflecting an image of the  crosshairs back up the telescope tube. The crosshairs were adjusted  until coincident with their reflection, and the line of sight was then  perfectly vertical; in this position the circles were read for the nadir point.
