activities proposed for the rietveld part of the erasmus project:

these are sort of 'office-hours' where students can drop by and get involved with tools and infrastructure, and work on projects can be done too. unlike events, they are more continuous and less spectacular. anita and martino will start by doing these but eventually they could also be taken over by students or other collaborators to keep the by-weekly meeting running. it should be known in the school that this is running of course, so there will be some communication about it. open to participants from all the school, realistically a small group will form (maybe 10 people constantly, with more or less 20-30 passing by a few times?)

these are more organized events with larger communication around it for the whole school. they are thought to open up the type of work we will do to a larger public, involving the less technical people too, showing the more artistic and social sides of the project, by inviting guests that make those practices engaging and intersectional. more presentation like but workshops could happen around the talks, too? so many participants from school to the talks (100), and some participants to workshops as well (10-20).

we will set up a server that students can use that is hosted at school phisically, and we will continue the work on the network by doing a local setup which can be managed by us teachers and students instead of by the ICT department. this is of course shared in the 'office-hours' but also hours work to set it up first and do maintenance.

part of the project will revolve around a shared set of infrastructure and services that will be used over the course of the project, with more complex tools such as the big blue button system, which will not run in school. one idea is that the shared infrastructure is distributed over the partners, so other partner can take on the bbb but for example us at the rietveld could take on the etherpad installation. in that case this work will be more directed to the whole project and to the partners, than to the rietveld students.

something we want to do with this project is also to write a documentation/publication about the project in the rietveld. this includes the past workddone at the library as infrastructural manoeuvers, and the experiments with the local network. this is writing work anita and martino will coordinate, with eventual contributors and with other work around such as design, proofreading, etc.

another type of publication will be the one that will be written together with the partners to document and write about the whole project. right now we imagine this could work as a stafette, where along a general plan, different parts of the work on the publication can be coordinated by a different partner. so for example we at rietveld coordinate the first part and then constant coordinates the second part. an idea.

another activity we could coordinate, which will be instead dedicated to the partners in the first place, is to dedicate one day for each of the eu tools for collaboration that erasmus suggest to use. this would be online sessions looking together at these tools, and read together some theory texts that contextualize what we observe.
