Dear x,

How are you?

On July 6th, we are organizing a literary erotic event titled "Here I Am Fighting Against Time, It May Lead Into Temptation," inspired by our reading group stemming from our current exhibition 'Yes, There Will Be Singing In Dark Times' by Lydia Schouten.

We are in the process of organizing the reading event and we would like to invite you to read your poems, as your poetics and writing resonates with the themes we intend to explore.

The themes explored during our reading group include desire, eroticism, queer love, the female condition, sex, intimacy, and both geographical and imaginary migrations. Over four sessions, we are reflecting upon a selection of poems and novel excerpts by Cecilia Vicuña, Kathy Acker, Angélica Freitas, Cecilia Pavón, and Pedro Lemebel.

The readings intend to connect a community of poets, artists, and writers across generations, exploring eroticism through writing and performance. We invite each artist to read a text—whether prose, poetry, or a fragment from works discussed during the reading group. Each performer will have 5 minutes to read their piece in the gallery space, creating a communal reading that responds to and amplifies Lydia's exhibition.

We would love for you to participate in the reading alongside other poets and writers. Although the date is scheduled, it would be wonderful if you are available to contribute to the evening's landscape.

Rozenstraat has a budget of €100 to cover your participation.

Looking forward to hearing from you. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Warm regards,

Jimena, Sjoerd & Madelon
